The Jaipur campus of Central Sanskrit University was set up in the 13th May 1983 as Kendriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha Initially with 5 Departments Sahitya, Vyakaran, Dharmashashtra, Jain darshan, & Shikshashastra . The establishment of this campus was the result of recommendation of the Rajasthan Sanskrit Academy and then subsequent request by then Rajasthan Chief Minister. The correspondences for setting up this campus was initiated from Rajasthan Sanskrit Academy premises and the classes were first started at rental location addressed K-14 Ashok Marg, C-Scheme, then moved to Mahavir Marg Sangram Colony C-Scheme ,Ganesh Marg Bapu Nagar and finally in its own campus building at Triveni Nagar, Gopalpura Bypass Jaipur in the year 2003. Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan has been declared as Deemed University on the recommendation of Universtiy Grants Commission by the Ministry of Human Resource Development , Department of Higher & Secondary Education, Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi vide their notification No. 9-28/2000-U.3 dated 7th May, 2002 .
