The Jaipur campus of Central Sanskrit University was set up in the 13th May 1983 as Kendriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha Initially with 5 Departments Sahitya, Vyakaran, Dharmashashtra, Jain darshan, & Shikshashastra . The establishment of this campus was the result of recommendation of the Rajasthan Sanskrit Academy and then subsequent request by then Rajasthan Chief Minister. The correspondences for setting up this campus was initiated from Rajasthan Sanskrit Academy premises and the classes were first started at rental location addressed K-14 Ashok Marg, C-Scheme, then moved to Mahavir Marg Sangram Colony C-Scheme ,Ganesh Marg Bapu Nagar and finally in its own campus building at Triveni Nagar, Gopalpura Bypass Jaipur in the year 2003.
Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan has been declared as Deemed University on the recommendation of Universtiy Grants Commission by the Ministry of Human Resource Development , Department of Higher & Secondary Education, Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi vide their notification No. 9-28/2000-U.3 dated 7th May, 2002 . The University Grants Commission has also notified the above declaration vide their notification No.
The Jyotish Department opened on 2000 and Sarvadarshan
Department opened on 2011.Veda Department opened on 2013 and
Sarvadarshan Department opened on 2011 Diploma in
Yoga & Ayurveda sahitya opened on 2016
It is a matter of pleasure that Ministry of Law and Justice,
Govt. of India published Central Sanskrit Universities Act,
2020 No.t of 2020 in the gazette of India on 15th March, 2020
as enacted by the Parliament and assented to by the President of
India, By this Act Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan (Deemed to be
University) has interalia been declared the Central Sanskrit
University. In pursuance thereof, The Ministry of Human Resource
Development Department of Higher Education Government of India
wide notification dated 17th April 2020 published in official
gadget has appointed the 30.04.2020 as the date on which the
provisions of the Central Sanskrit Universities act 2020 shall
come into force as such Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan Deemed to
be university shall start functioning as the Central Sanskrit
University under the above said act with effect from 30.04.2020, Presently, Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan Jaipur
Campus is now Central Sanskrit University Jaipur campus.
On the special request of Chief Minister late Shri Shivcharan Mathur with endeavours of Padmashree-Dr. Mandan Mishra- former Director of Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan New Delhi and first Director Prof. Ramkaran Sharma, “Kendriya Sanskrit Vidhyapeeth” was established on 13th may 1983. Earlier it was known as Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, Deemed to be University, Jaipur campus situated in Jaipur. The Ministry of Human Resource Development Department of Higher Education, Government of India wide notification dated April 17th, 2020 published in official gadget has allotted the 30.04.2020 as the date on which the provisions of the Central Sanskrit Universities act 2020 shall come into force. Therefore, Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan Deemed to be university shall start functioning as the Central Sanskrit University under the above said act with effect from 30.04.2020. Following Traditional methods of teaching, preserving rare transcripts, publishing, exploring Sanskrit areas and shastras along with modern subjects. This institute is celebrating its 37th annual program and feeling privileged and proud to have National and International Scholars. This is distinguished as one of the best among twelve campuses. Strength of students and academic achievements entitled it the best Campus.
During the period of Dr. Sarojini Mahrishi, with her endeavors and with the help of financial aid by Central Government on 7.27 Acres area, 60 Rooms for teaching learning, administration, Gym, furnished Seminar Hall, Library, Project Lab, Computer Lab, Research Centre, Distance - Learning Centre, Separate Hostels for Girls & Boys, Quarters for Teachers & Officials, Ground for sports activity and gardens etc. generated and these are the attributes of our campus. During this year works like renovation, lift-installation, and adornment have been done in the campus building. Due to significant increase in student's enrollment, additional computers have been installed in the computer lab. The commencement ceremony of the Multi-purpose building was held on the 27 January 2020 with the sanctioned amount 34, 49, 50, 276. In which the Chief Guest Honorable Governor of Rajasthan Shree Kalraj Mishra along with our Vice Chancellor- Prof. P.N. Shastri of Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan had their gracious presence. Campus Principal Prof. Arknath Chaudhary addressed the glorious history of the campus and apprised of future creative mechanisms.
